Connor Wickham is allegedly on Liverpool’s radar with Roy Hodgson ready to sign the 6ft 3in striker in January. Ipswich Town are said to be demanding £10 million for the 17 year old to move. Wickham has made 7 appearances this season, with no goals to his name.
Admittedly, I know nothing about Wickham. But, I'd say spending £10 million on a 17 year old, unproven kid is an ill advised decision right now. Yes, he may be great eventually but we can't afford to wait for him to develop with the Reserves. We need proven quality and depth right away. Wickham really doesn't fit the bill unless he is ready to jump right into the Premier League, which I do not think is the case.
